Founded in 2012 in Belfast, The deviant theatre company was set out to champion new and different theatre within a industry that had become stagnant. Cristin McManus and Kyle Anderson set out to change this by creating theatre that others found dark or eerie.

Although the Company was set out to primarily create theatre we have always saw ourselves as a place of community for those who feel they have no one else hence our ethos: “Dare to be Different” a phrase we live by here.

The company ran for 5 years before the team behind Deviant decided to walk away from the project.

Cut to now. Deviant theatre has rebranded itself with a new team of creators at the wheel and the drive back. we seek to build on the foundations laid by the previous team and guide Deviant into the future.

Deviant now offers more than just show tickets, We now say come join us cause if we can anyone can. We teach skills in all aspects of theatre with specialised classes for ages 11 - 25.

Deviant is also dedicated to providing more outreach and charity work than ever so that we can strengthen the community around us as well as within.
